After a brief hiatus, indie-rock singer-songwriter Samia, showcased her strong vocals and fun dance moves from her new album, Bloodless during her first show of The Bloodless Tour Sept. 8 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Hank Heaven opened up for Samia. They were rocking a cargo hat, white tank top, blue button-down top and jeans, a staple-look for the Brooklyn-based artist. Purple lights engulfed the stage as they began playing “Lay Down,” which got the crowd moving with their funky guitar solos and upbeat drums. With their alternative/indie sound, in “Reno,” “Daddy’s Gonna Buy You a Car,” “Glass” and more, Hank Heaven is a force to be reckoned with in the indie-rock scene.
Half an hour later, “Biscuits Intro” began. Wearing a sporty black dress and Doc Martin’s, Samia and her band walked on stage which had a prop of “Samia’s Cooler” and various lightbulbs roaming around. Her talented band members accompanied the Los Angeles native singer, all happy to be back on stage together. Samia was smiling ear-to-ear and could not stop thanking the crowd. She then sang “Triptych,” a powerful track, with blue lights shining on her and fans sang along to the bittersweet pop ballad. Her enchanting voice echoed throughout the 650-capacity venue, especially in “Bovine Excision,” "Carousel" and “North Poles.” Samia’s joyous presence mixed with the captivating lighting was an astonishing sight to see. Her encore “Honey” brought everyone together, as fans jumped around with her to end the night.
